Requires application of mature engineering knowledge in planning and conducting projects having scope for independent accomplishment and co-ordination of the difficult and responsible assignments.  Requires the ability to direct engineering personnel associated with project to meet work schedules, using knowledge of the capacities of workers, machines and equipment. Assigned problems make it necessary to modify established guides, devise new approaches, apply existing criteria in new manners, and draw conclusions from comparative situations.
 
Carries out responsible and varied engineering assignments requiring general familiarity with a broad field of engineering and knowledge of both electronic design, related software development and hardware packaging.  Ability to create effective documentation for design support in meeting, contract requirements. Ensures the quality of work meets the highest applicable standards and enforces safety regulations.
 
Manage programs from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget. Work closely with Business Development and Sales to maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction, including collaboration on new proposals to determine design effort requirements, estimate material and supply costs and schedule to meet requirements. Assist in preparing sales proposals for new project opportunities.
 

Prerequisite:

Professional Engineer (P. Eng) designation.
 
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or Applied Science, or equivalent, with a minimum of five to ten years post graduation working experience that includes a senior level supervisory role.
 
Project management experience, including dealing with customer’s on project scheduling, resolving customer requirements issues and supporting business development.
 
Experience with quality systems, as well as an understanding of product life cycle. Experience with formal software engineering methodologies and Software Development Lifecycle, ideally in a CMMI Level II environment is considered an asset.
 
Excellent planning and communication skills; both written & oral.

  4. Effectively and successfully launch customer projects
  5. Develop new products for future business growth
  6. Contribute direct engineering support in personally developing documents, designs and support (a working manager)

Available to travel throughout Canada, United States and overseas for technical meetings and/or product support.
